Enterprise Data Warehouse Developer

Job Skills and Requirements:


  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Computer Science
  • 10 years' experience in database development, operations, maintenance and data governance by determining structural requirements, developing and installing solutions.
  • Must be able to work with data sets throughout their life cycle, from development to transformation, storage and usage. This is a hands-on position throughout all project work.
  • This position requires a strong knowledge of ORACLE 12g, ODI, ERWIN, Business Objects 4.1.
  • 5 years in Report/Dashboard/Analytical solution development
  • A minimum of 5 years in developing solutions with Business Objects 4.x including universes, EBI, Crystal Reports and Tableau
  • A minimum of 5 years in writing ORACLE PL/SQL procedures and functions
  • Knowledge of Dimensional Data Warehouse objects and concepts
  • Understanding of ETL processes and dependencies
  • Create solution blue prints, perform unit testing and be able to develop technical documentation
  • Create end-to-end DW/BI solutions, individually as well as in collaboration with the team
  • Must assure work is in compliance with IT's governance
  • Must provide a set of requirements and documentation for all project work
  • Must be able to audit and diagnose systems in order to prevent failure or address system problems
  • Must participate in data modeling and extraction strategies, development, implementation, maintenance
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • A minimum of 5 years of data warehouse development, operations, maintenance experience, during which both professional and management capabilities have been clearly demonstrated.
  • Extensive expertise in data architecting, development, security management, master data management, data mining, data modeling (physical and logical) and data grooming.
  • 5 years of working experience in relational SQL database Oracle (including but not limited to SQL, PL/SQL, Stored Procedure, Views, Functions).
  • Solid experience in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools is a must.
  • Ability to fine tune PL/SQL queries with strong trouble shooting skills.
  • Proven skills to design Data Warehouse schema and define ETL for DW. Knowing SAP Business Objects 4.1 (Webi, Universes) is an asset.
  • Extensive experience providing practical direction on information and analytics platforms in conjunction with EDW tools and technologies.
  • Good understanding in SDLC and Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong experience in Business Process Modeling (BPM).
  • Extensive experience for collecting business requirement from customers, and transform the requirements into DB data processes and data schema.
  • Experience in and understanding of a wide variety of analytical processes (governance, measurement, information security, etc.).
  • Structured thinker and effective communicator, comfortable with interacting with customers.
  • Proven communication skills (written and verbal) for negotiating and consensus building.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - demonstrate a positive attitude, able to work effectively as part of a project team and foster team collaboration.
  • Superior organizational skills; prioritization, planning and time management.
  • Develops specific metrics for quality and consistency reviews of data.
  • Attention to detail and maintaining high quality standards is a must.
  • Draws conclusions and effectively communicates findings with both technical and non-technical team members, providing feasible solutions to project team and business community.
  • Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans and milestone goals.
  • Determine impacts and remediation migrating to new target schema/instance environment.
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical and logical concepts and adapt quickly to change.
  • The ability to work efficiently, under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of technology and the Data Protection Act.
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing.



Job Responsibilities:

  • The Enterprise Data Administrator is responsible for setting standards and modeling operational and analytical data; structured and unstructured data; data in motion and data at rest.
  • The Enterprise Data Administrator plays a data stewardship role, and is a key participant in the Information Lifecycle Management.
  • The Enterprise Data Administrator is expected to assess new technologies and techniques that can drive improvements in reliability, agility, and business performance.
  • Consolidate and optimize data warehouse infrastructure
  • Conceive analytics and business intelligence platform architecture for  business units and third-party clients
  • Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and external sources, ensure data is verified and quality is checked
  • Design and implement ETL processes and data architecture to ensure proper functioning of analytics, as well as third-party reporting environments and dashboards
  • Collaborate with the business units and information technology team in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization
  • Carry out monitoring, tuning, and database performance analysis
  • Perform the design and extension of data marts, meta data, and data models
  • Ensure all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Translate business requirements into new and established data models, develop ETL's, build cubes, and validate results with the business units
  • Support implemented BI solutions by monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing data integrity issues, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.
  • Establish and maintain storage vehicles for external and internal information
  • Provide support to business requirements in the application and consumption of information from the enterprise data warehouse or from other suitable source systems.
  • As part of the information technology team, review, analyze, modify, create ETL's, testing, debugging, integration and implementation processes.
  • Document technical needs for ETL processes and databases
  • Ensure optimal technical infrastructure is utilized
  • Deliver data integration projects leveraging best practice expertise and experience at implementation and know-how
