Organize and/ or conduct site orientations, training and safety talks
Perform site inspections using audit tool, and/or internal processes to ensure a hazard-free environment.
Verify list of project tools, equipment and machinery. Confirm they are adequate and safe for use, and confirm operator/user training.
Pro-active approach to Health, Safety, Infection Control and Environmental hazards.
Pre-project assessments, including development of site-specific safety plans and procedures.
Prepare Start-Up documents such as subcontractor plans, site signage, supervisor’s documents, project hazards, risks and control measures etc.
Review health and safety documents from site supervisors, subcontractors and clients.

Evaluate emergency response and written plans. Arrange for drills to evaluate effectiveness.
Assist with accident/ incident/ near miss/ spill/ prescribed events reporting. Verify that reports are completed and sent to relevant agencies (i.e. MOL, MOE, WSIB, Trade Union, JHSC).
Implement company and legislative initiatives, and assess areas for improvement.
Assist in auditing tracking and development
Control and monitor safety training for all employees
Develop and track sub-contractor safety plans, etc….
Job Requirements:
Certified Health and Safety Representative, under WSIB or MOL
Working at Heights, valid and approved by MOL
Basics of Supervision course
Valid First Aid, CPR and AED, approved by WSIB
Respiratory Fit Test for full and half face mask (desired)
Asbestos Awareness, Type 1 and Type 2 Operations (desired)
Infection Control CSA approved training Part 1 and 2 (desired)
Team Orientated and able to engage with clients, supervisors and workers
Knowledge of construction and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Construction Regulations
Effective Written and Oral Communication
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to make decisions with strong leadership skills
