Land Development Construction Manager

Job Order: CT-1607

Job Descriptions:

  • Follow and consistently demonstrate the company’s core, values and leadership drivers
  • Assist in the development of project design, schedules and budgets for all assigned real estate projects
  • Manage and execute the construction of all development and servicing projects to meet critical dates and quality requirements
  • Confer with Consultants and Contractors and resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly reports regarding status of each project including, status of construction, cost variances, unresolved items and other project related reports. Include photographs as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining all project records per the office record keeping system
  • Monitor project closeout process including contract closeouts, punch list and final payments
  • Ensure that relevant development information is provided to project team Consultants in a timely manner
  • Consultants, General Contractors, Subcontractors and other third party vendors selection
  • Participate during the planning phase of development applications: preparation/review of Technical Studies (Functional Servicing Reports (FSR), Master Environmental Servicing Plans (MESP), Hydraulic Studies, etc.)
  • Help obtain Engineering approvals
  • Review and analyze tender documents and Sub-Division Works
  • Construction documents monitoring for compliance with objectives and municipal permits
  • Attaining Assumption from Municipalities
  • Attend all meetings with various engineering Consultants, Contractors, Regulatory agencies
  • Participate with Senior Management in the awarding of contracts, monitoring of project costs, and approval of change orders and invoices
  • Manage all Health and Safety issues on site and create a safe working environment for all workers
  • Manage the relationship with Tenants currently residing on/renting development land


Job Requirements:

  • Professional Engineering designation such as P.Eng. in Ontario or CET designation, with relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in municipal infrastructure design for private sector projects in Southern Ontario
  • Excellent understanding of the local planning and development approval process
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCad, LDD and Civil 3D and other design software
  • PMP certified
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior members of the team
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment to make decisions
  • High level of integrity and dependability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Valid G driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
