Finishing Superintendent

Job Descriptions:

  • Plan, schedule and supervise all aspects of construction activity on site
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing the company's health and safety policies and procedures on site
  • Prepare look-ahead schedules, monitor the overall construction and critical path schedules, and provide regular schedule status reports
  • Maintain daily logs, progress photos and submit monthly Site Superintendent Reports
  • Ensure that the site team maintains up-to-date and organized construction documents at all times
  • Enforce quality control measures for all trade work and verify that all work complies with trade contract documents, plans, specifications, applicable building codes and regulations
  • Oversee the ordering of construction material and scheduling of deliveries to the site
  • Prepare and maintain an organized Construction Management Plan for the site that addresses site storage, access points, traffic control, security, temporary offices, equipment locations, staging areas, etc.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing scopes of work for procurement and contract documents
  • Evaluate trade contractor progress payment certificates and quotations for changes to the work
  • Participate in regularly scheduled owner and consultant meetings
  • Lead all site reviews and inspections with authorities having jurisdictions
  • Maintain organized as-built drawings
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, trade contractors and all other project stakeholders


Job Requirements:

  • The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to successfully manage and oversee all aspects of site supervision, coordination, health and safety, and schedule control.
  • This position is for individuals with strong leadership qualities and experience that are looking for an opportunity to advance their career within a growing organization.
  •  Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as a Finishing Superintendent residential and/or ICI construction or equivalent
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to lead teams and communicate effectively
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational and record record-keeping skills
  • Proficient in the interpretation of construction documents including drawings, specifications and contracts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Projects
  • Must have Drivers licence and vehicle
  • Can legally work in Canada
