Provide effective on-site field management of projects to ensure the execution of work by our clients forces and Subcontractors to meet or exceed our Client’s expectations of quality, safety and delivery.
Perform all functions and responsibilities in accordance with our clients values and beliefs.
Ensure compliance with Company health and safety Policy and Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation for Construction Projects
Provide leadership to all parties on site, displaying a high level of honesty and professionalism
Motivate and discipline our clients field resources and all subtrades to complete their portion of work safely, on-time and to an acceptable standard of quality
Expedite the resolution of any problems or conflicts that arise on site
Ensure quality plans are adhered to for all work performed
Execute work in conjunction with office staff under specific project schedules
Maintain good working relationship with the clients, consultants, subtrades and regulatory authorities
Process time sheets, purchase orders, directives and other documentation as necessary
Organize regular trade meetings and safety meetings
Maintain a safe, organized and clean site with proper site signage to ensure that a professional image is protected
As a working superintendent, you are expected to perform physical labour from time to time as necessary to complete the work efficiently and economically
Provide other duties as requested and required
4+ years of experience within ICI Construction environment (multi-million dollar renovation/new build projects)
College, Technical Degree or Tradesman Certificate, or equivalent experience
Solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and field drawings
Up to date safety training including: Working At Heights, WHMIS & First Aid
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience managing labourers, sub-trades and suppliers
Ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required
