Network Administrator (LAN/WAN)

 Job Description:

  • Anticipate, mitigate and resolve network issues; 
  • Participate in the planning, design and support of enterprise Core, LAN and WAN infrastructure;
  • Participate in team meetings, project planning and needs analysis;
  • Ensure all communication infrastructure is monitored;
  • Conduct and execute LAN infrastructure assessments and upgrades;
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve performance;
  • Install, configure, secure and maintain layer 2 and 3 switches;
  • Install, configure and maintain Cisco wireless access points and controllers; 
  • Install, configure, secure and maintain firewall and intrusion detection and prevention;
  • Review and evaluate new information technology developments in the field of networking. 

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in network design and support;
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent relevant experience;
  • Cisco certification;
  • Experience with BGP, OSPF and EIGRP routing technologies;
  • Experience with VLANs, port channels, trunking, etc;
  • Experience in deploying and supporting VPN technologies;
  • Experience with QoS;
  • Experience with WiFi technologies;
  • Experience with firewall technologies (Fortinet NGFW, Cisco ASA);
  • Experience with WAN optimization technologies (i.e., Riverbed);
  • Experience with HA/DR network technologies;
  • Experience with Microwave technologies;
  • In-depth experience with Cisco IOS;
  • Willingness to be “on call” on a rotating basis.
  •  Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both official languages;
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team, to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to change;
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions rapidly on the basis of experience and judgment even when working with incomplete information and/or under pressure;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Strong technical documentation skills;
  • Ability to assume responsibility, manage multiple priorities and collaboratively drive issues to closure;
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture.
