Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures
  • Develop and execute testing scenarios that address areas such as complex business logic, graphical interface, database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability
  • Create and maintain test data sets
  • Design and maintain automated testing scripts, tools and reports
  • Document software defects, using Team Foundation Server, and report defects to software developers
  • Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, or content
  • Contribute to and maintain software documentation such as release notes, help documents, and internal training guides
  • Investigate customer and internal escalations and document findings
  • Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes
  • Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
  • Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks
  • Release management

Desired Skills and Experience

Technical Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with automated and manual testing approaches for complex business applications is a key requirement
  • Experience with more than one of the leading test automation tools and frameworks, such as Microsoft Visual Studio Test Professional, HP Quick Test, Selenium, etc. is a must have skill
  • Working knowledge of the .Net framework and Microsoft enterprise deployment technologies is a critical skill to ensure success
  • Experience with SQL Server 2008 and above for performing SQL queries to validate data and complete simple DBA tasks such as database backups and restorations is essential
  • Experience with HTML, XML, CHM Files, Visual Studio, SVN, Team Foundation Server and the Microsoft ALM lifecycle would be an asset

Education & Experience Requirements

  •  A minimum of 3 years of quality assurance experience focusing on software functionality verification and complex business logic validation; CASQ or CSTE certification would be a big plus
  •  Experience with the subject matter areas of mortgages, lending, and securitization would be an asset
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and contribute to project success in a team environment while simultaneously completing individual tasks and goals
  • Self-starter that can work in an agile environment with little oversight and direction
  •  A desire to explore emerging testing tools and methodologies (Visual Studio Test Professional)
  •  Pride and craftsmanship in the work that you do
