Assistant Supervisor

Job Description:

  • Review   and   understand job   specifications and   drawings and   follow through  with estimating process to develop competitive bids
  • Conduct site/tender walkthrough to cross reference drawings to avoid site interferences and identify proactive solutions.
  • Produce material and labor take-off through estimating software to  develop  accurate quotations.
  • Communicate with  client to gather  information, clarify specifications, wording, etc.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors and  suppliers to  obtain  pricing to  include within the final quotation provided  to client.
  • Participate in closing the bid including bid review  meetings, etc.
  • Participate in hand over meeting with Project management team after  award.

 

Job Qualifications:

  • You have a of minimum five [5) years of Estimating experience within the electrical construction industry
  • You have an Electrical Engineering degree  or diploma or related education and/or trade experience
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with  Accubid Pro and/or Enterprise, Live Count  a definite as Enforcement of the OHSA and Regulations O.Reg. 213/91.
  • Review, acknowledge and implementation of all safety related responsibilities as it pertains to reporting, site specific safety plan development, orientation, monitoring of hazards, investigations, training, recording and other safety related duties as may be required.
  • Assist in the site review and development of site strategy plan as it pertains to access, public protection, material deliveries, concrete staging, hoist and crane location, site offices and shacks and other related requirements.
  • Review of all site utilities, both existing and proposed, for the purpose of site planning and for the prevention of potential interferences with respect to design and execution of work.
  • Review of all reports and documents including Soils Investigation, Site Services, Shoring, Structural, Architectural, M & E, Interior Design and Landscape drawings.
  • Assist in the review and execution of all awarded contract scopes of work and check for completeness and duplication.
  • Assist in the coordination of all site activities in order to meet schedule time lines.
  • Participate in all company related Safety Certifications and Safety meetings as required.
  • Assignment and monitoring of duties to the Site Coordinator and labour force as required.
  • Participate in all site sub-trade meetings.
  • Liaise with Consultants on various design related matters as required.
  • Assist in the determining and arranging of various material purchases.
  • Schedule and conduct site reviews as required by the Building Department, Project Consultants, 3rd party testing Consultants and other authorities having jurisdiction as directed by the Site Supervisor
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of an RFI Log and the review and processing of any related Site Instructions as needed.
  • Perform daily site activity reviews for the purpose of assessing Production and maintaining Quality Control.
  • Continually maintaining good relations with the Public, Clients, City Officials and neighbours alike.
